I’ve been seeing more and more lifted trucks for sale, and the movement interests me. There are only a few reasons one could want a jacked up vehicle, and a couple of those three really involve the fulfillment of making an incredible looking, big raised truck. So why so much buying and selling jacked up trucks these days?
The main reason most people get jacked up trucks is for the off roading functionality. The increased ground clearance and the larger, tougher tires render this truck more prepared to handle bigger off road obstacles. Back during my early days of truck modifications, capability was basically the only real reason truck owners lifted the suspension of their truck.
The second reason people raise their pickups is for the pure fun of modifying their vehicle to become larger and better equipped in a range of areas including off roading. These trucks are mechanical challenges and the effort put into them creates mechanical miracles. This usually relates to the improved off roading ability, however the true intent is often to benefit from the mechanics of the conversion process and the satisfaction of the finished product.
The third legitimate reason people like jacked up trucks seems to have become the top motivation recently, and that is the feeling of owning, driving and showcasing a big, bombastic monster of a truck. It appears the off road ability and mechanics of the process has taken a backseat to just proudly owning that impressive lifted truck.
I suppose that’s exactly why we are able to come across so many jacked up trucks for sale nowadays. Whether you like them or not the enthusiasm for this type of truck continues and grow. The mechanics behind jacked up trucks and the lift kits available seem to be improving all the time making it a little easier for people to modify their truck themselves.
