I love to deocrate my home for all of the holidays and figurines are one of my favorite ways to make my home look festive for all of the holidays. Of course the Christmas Season is one of my favorite deocrating times of years. All of my figurines Christmas are carefully taken out of their storage places and dusted off. During that prep time I think over where I will put them all. I use Santa figurines as place markers for Christmas Eve dinner. We’re Italian and I serve the traditional seafood and fish multi-course dinner. The red of the Santa suits really perks up all that white seafood!
Halloween is my second favorite decorating season! I’m afraid that I’ve taken to making costumes for my garden gnomes! Watching the different costumes I make each Halloween is fast becoming a neighborhood tradition. One year I lined the walkway to the frontdoor with dozens of costumed garden gnomes. I also have a collection of black cat figurines. I’m quite a cat lover and this seemed like a natural way for me to celebrate the holiday. All of the black cat figurines are put on a table in the foyer surrounding a huge pumpkin filled with candy.
